The Brisbane Lions have this week broken through the 20,000 member barrier - just in time to celebrate membership ambassador Simon Black’s 300th AFL match.

Black is set to become just the fourth player in the Club’s 126-years of combined history to play 300 senior AFL matches this Saturday night against Geelong at the Gabba.

Fate would also have it that the midfield superstar will get to share the celebration with his home crowd.

Like Black, the Lions are determined to see their latest membership milestone continue to build throughout the season, before the official cut-off date at the end of June.

Lions fans can still get great value out of 3-game memberships - which allow you to select any three blockbuster Lions matches to attend throughout the year at the Gabba.

Five matches also remain in Melbourne for those loyal fans who are still considering signing up as a 2012 Victorian member.

The Round 1 win against Melbourne at the MCG proved how valuable the support from our Victorian faithful can be, and we’ll be hoping even more voices will turn out to help get the team over the line against the Bombers in Round 6 at Etihad Stadium.
