Even though we’re coming off our best win for the season, I think the Bye has probably come at a good time for us.

We’re all heading into the break feeling pretty positive after knocking off the top team, and will be looking to continue that momentum into the second half of the season.

Even though we’d certainly like to be a little higher on the ladder, there have been some signs to suggest that we’re improving as a team. Already we’ve won as many matches as we did for the entire 2011 season.

Plus, our young blokes are gaining more and more confidence with every week, and their good form is causing some headaches at the selection table. It’s a good problem to have and shows that we’re building a bit of depth.

But as a whole, it’s been a tough start to the year and we’re all looking forward to having a bit of a rest.

The game is so demanding these days that you definitely need a bit of a freshen-up mid-year - both physically and mentally.

Personally, I’ll keep pretty cruisy over our four days off and just take the time to relax and get a bit of energy back.

I’ll probably also spend a couple days down the Coast with a few of the boys. One of the best things about Queensland is the weather during winter - very rarely does it rain or drop below 20 degrees.

Even though there are no official training commitments, the boys will keep themselves in good shape by doing a bit of recovery, some stretching and maybe a light jog.

On Saturday we’ll switch back on get ready to attack the second half of the year.
