Lions superstar Simon Black will be available to line-up against Melbourne this Sunday at the Gabba after accepting a reprimand for his striking charge that was handed down by the AFL Match Review Panel on Monday.

Black was charged with a Level Two striking offence against Liam Picken from the Western Bulldogs, following an incident during the third quarter of last Saturday's match at Etihad Stadium.

In summary, he accepted a reprimand and 93.75 points towards his future record with an early guilty plea.

Based on the video evidence available and a medical report from the Western Bulldogs Football Club, the incident was assessed as reckless conduct (two points), low impact (one point) and high contact (two points).

This is a total of five activation points, resulting in a classification of a Level Two offence, drawing 125 demerit points and a one-match sanction. With no existing good or bad record, an early plea reduced his sanction by 25 per cent to a reprimand and 93.75 points towards his future record.
