FLOOD RELIEF & BUSHFIRE APPEAL AFL COMMUNITY SUPPORT

NAB Challenge match to support North Queensland Flood & Victorian Bushfire Appeals

AFL Cairns with the AFL have planned several initiatives for Friday night's NAB Challenge game between the Lions v Melbourne @ Cazaly Stadium to raise funds for the North Queensland Floods Relief Appeal and the Red Cross Victorian Bushfire Appeal.

These initiatives include:

- The AFL has provided 200 FREE General Admission tickets for Ingham residents affected by the floods who wish to attend the match, with the tickets available from the Hinchinbrook Shire Council Offices from Thursday this week.

- AFL Cairns will donate $500 plus $1 per paying attendee at the NAB Challenge match so all Far North Queensland AFL fans are strongly encouraged to attend the fixture.

- Cairns SES members have been invited to attend the match as guests of AFL Cairns and the AFL, and the wonderful job they do throughout the community will be acknowledged pre-game.

- The AFL Cairns Umpires Association has volunteered to collect donations from around the ground at Friday night's game.

- A match football signed by both team captains will be auctioned after the game by AFL Cairns.

AFL Cairns' Social Club Cazaly's has also contributed significantly to the appeal by:
- Donating the money from all renewals and new membership fees collected in February.
- Donating Club profits from its Valentine's Day trading.
- Cazaly's staff have donated $10 from their wages.
- Cazaly's is also accepting donations at the Clubhouse anytime from patrons.

The monies raised from these initiatives will be split 50/50 between the North Queensland Floods Disaster Relief Appeal and the Red Cross Victorian Bushfire Appeal.
