LAST TIME THEY MET
The Lions travelled to Etihad on the eve of the Club’s inaugural Hall of Fame induction, and donned limited-edition heritage-inspired guernseys to mark the occasion.
The guernseys proved to inspire the visitors, who came out firing and led at every change to storm home to a 58-point victory.
Vice-Captain Tom Rockliff was inspirational with 40 possessions and two goals, while Pearce Hanley (29), Jack Redden (31), and Dayne Zorko (28) also saw plenty of the ball. Goalsneak Ash McGrath kicked five goals, while Daniel Merrett booted four.
It was the Lions’ first win against the Bulldogs in Melbourne in almost nine years.
