Please find below an edited transcript from what was said during the Q&A session.

Jared Polec:
Hey guys, Jared here. Hit me with your questions!

Di: Hi Jared - great game on Saturday night. You were everywhere. How many kms did you clock up on the GPS?

Jared Polec: Hi Di, I clocked up 12.8kms, a bit lower than normal.

Di: Really, would have thought it was higher. What would you usually do?

Jared Polec: Hi Di, I usually try to get about 14.

Sarah: Hey Jared, do you guys get much spare time during the week? What do you do when you aren't training or playing?

Jared Polec: I’m usually left cleaning up after Niall and Toddy's mess at home!

Morgan: Hey Jared, great game on Saturday night. It’s good to get a win over the rivals, but this week holds the greatest challenge off all - the Cats. Are you looking forward to coming up against the best to see where you’re at in your development?

Jared Polec: Hi Morgan, it should be a good challenge to play against the best opponents over the last 5 years. Should be good to see where our team is at, and individually where I am at.

Ryan: Hey Jared, just wanted to congratulate you on the spoil you put on late in the game where you got crunched. Outstanding commitment mate, it was inspirational to watch.

Jared Polec: Thanks Ryan. It’s something we have been working on for a while now. Hard ball gets and contested ball.

Bryce: Hey Jared, who - apart from yourself - out of the younger group do you reckon will be the next band of superstars at the Lions?

Jared Polec: Hi Bryce, the next players coming through would be Mitch Golby, Ryan Lester, Rohan Bewick, Ryan Harwood, Jesse O'Brien and Claye Beams.

Mitch: How many hours of training will you do this week?

Jared Polec: Hey Mitch, I couldn't tell you off the top of my head - but lots!

Jack: I’m flying up to Brisbane to watch you guys play Geelong for my 18th birthday present - so I’m pretty excited.

Jared Polec: Hopefully we can put on a good game for you - enjoy your birthday!

Jenny: Hey Jared, who do you share a house with, and how do you go about deciding who does what chores? What chores do you least like to do?

Jared Polec: I live with Todd Banfield and Niall McKeever. Toddy and I tend to do all the chores, while Niall stays messy! I least like doing the washing.

Thomas: Jared , I’m 15 and I am wondering what did you do as a kid to get an edge on other kids your own age.

Jared Polec: Hi Thomas, just try to train harder than the rest of the group and do extras. And enjoy your footy.

Daniel: Jared, how hard do you train each week?

Jared Polec: Hi Daniel, very hard. And always try do the little things right.

Alex: Hey Jared, great to see you have a spot locked down in the 22 so far this year. What are your goals for the rest of the season?

Jared Polec: Thanks Alex, my main goal is to try and hold my spot and keep building confidence throughout the year.

Jamo: Hey Jared! I've been looking forward to seeing some of your potential since you were drafted. I've been super impressed so far with you this season! Are you happy with how you're playing?

Jared Polec: Hey Jamo, yeah pretty happy. Particularly after last year with injury, coming through well keeps building confidence. I’m finding my way out on the field a bit better.

Di: How is everyone feeling about celebrating Blacky's big milestone this week? Any special events happening?

Jared Polec: Yeah, it's a great feeling around the Club. Everyone is stoked of his achievements for the Brisbane Lions. It's good to play alongside someone of his calibre. Check out the website for something special they have going for Blacky this week.

Morgan: Who do you hope to match-up on Saturday night? Do you have anyone in particular you would like to match up against?

Jared Polec: Ummm I don't know yet. I’ll find out Thursday in the opposition meeting!

Daniel: You’re an outstanding player. Where do you prefer to play?

Jared Polec: I like to play in ruck….I'm kidding, I prefer to play wing or half-forward Daniel.

Bryce: Is it difficult to stay self-motivated and get all of the extra work and diet down pat outside of training? If it is, how do you cope?

Jared Polec: It's not difficult at all. You have to be the best player you can be to help the team lift.

Matt: Hey Jared, what is your favourite colour?

Jared Polec: Hey Matt, blue is my favourite colour.

Jamo: Hey mate! Who's the most annoying player at the club??

Jared Polec: Good question Jamo - probably Jesse O’Brien coz he's always up and about.

Ben: Hey Jared, awesome game on Saturday night. What do you get up to in the off-season, other than the off-season training?

Jared Polec: Hey Ben, I like to go overseas and spend time with my family and friends.

Matt: Hey Jared, what other sports do you enjoy playing and watching?

Jared Polec: Hi Matt, umm I enjoy FIFA! Bowling with the boys, and when I go back home, a bit of soccer.

Josh: Hey Jared, Huge Fan! I live in WA so I don't get to see you guys play very often and wasn't able to make it to the game last weekend. Can't wait until the West Coast game in July!! Hoping that I'll be able to make it! You guys are my heroes!

Jared Polec: Thanks mate - will be good to see you there.

Sarah: Did you always want to be a professional football player? What did you want to be growing up?

Jared Polec: I've always wanted to be a professional footy player Sarah!

Akhil: Hey Jared, after having some surgery on the knee, does it ever give you second thoughts on whether to go in fully, cause it didn't stop you on Saturday night, that was really well done!

Jared Polec: Yeah I've had some second thoughts throughout the start of the season during the NAB Cup. But I’m starting to grow confidence in my knee.

Simon: Hey Jared! Love your work so far this season. You're a superstar in the making in my opinion! Reckon the boys can make finals this year?

Jared Polec: Hi Simon, it's a bit early to tell who is going to make the Finals. Our main ambition is to gain respect from higher-ranking opponents first.

Simon: Hey Jared, when do you reckon Patty K will get a game in the seniors?

Jared Polec: He shouldn't be too far away from a senior game - but you'll have to check with Vossy on that one!

Ryan: Having played a season in the NEAFL, do you think the top few teams are around SANFL standard? If not, how far off that level do you think it is?

Jared Polec: NEAFL is starting to get stronger - still a little bit off the SANFL though.

Ashley: Yo Jared, how are the highly talented trio in Barlett, Zorko and Docherty coming along? Can't wait to get a glimpse of them.

Jared Polec: What up Ashley? Yeah, they're coming along well. They're all playing Reserves this week and can't wait to see the trio play!

James: Hey Jared, you’re having a good season so far and you’re really playing well! Keep it up! Patty K has been playing well in the reserves when do you think he will play a senior game?

Jared Polec: Thanks James. See above about Patty K. Give Vossy a call…Hahaha

Darcy: Hey Jared, do you have any pre-game rituals or superstitions?

Jared Polec: Hi Darcy, I tend to wear the same jocks every game. They're pink. Haha

Dave: Hey Jared. Is it just Voss that makes the final call on selections?? Or is it more of a committee??

Jared Polec: There's a lot - all the coaches catch up to make the team selections. A lot get involved.

Angela: Hi Jared... any chance you’re single?

Jared Polec: Hi Angela, yeah I'm single and ready to mingle!

Ryan: Saw you were the first in to congratulate big JB on his 500th goal on Saturday. How was the feeling out on the ground when the great man did it?

Jared Polec: It was a great feeling - and a relief! I thought he was gonna miss that kick! Hahaha

Thanks for the questions, see you at this weekend's game against Geelong.
GO LIONS!!
